How do I use my playbooks in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini in the browser?

The Chrome extension puts your playbooks next to the input box of the AI you already use. What it can do, what it deliberately cannot, and what to check when it shows nothing.

For: everyone. Every role can install and use the extension, including members.

The sqemes extension is a Chrome extension. Once it is installed and signed in, your workspace's published playbooks are available inside ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini — you stay in the tool you already use, and sqemes contributes the wording rather than the AI.

Setting it up

  1. Install it from the Chrome Web Store. The link is in the setup wizard and in Settings.

  2. Sign in with the same account you use for sqemes.

  3. Open ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Your playbooks are reachable from the message box.

Pick a playbook, fill in whatever variables it asks for, and the finished text goes into the input box. You can edit it before sending — it is a starting point, not a submission.

What it deliberately does not do

  • It does not bring its own AI. The model is whatever that site gives you, on your own account there. sqemes neither pays for nor sees that conversation.

  • No personas. Personas work in sqemes Chat and over MCP. The extension serves playbooks.

  • No drafts. Unpublished playbooks are invisible here, even though you can still see them in the webapp.

It is released separately, and that matters

The extension ships through the Chrome Web Store on its own schedule, so your installed version can be older than the webapp. Chrome usually updates extensions by itself, but not instantly.

⚠️ The version that matters most: skills need 2.6.6 or newer. On anything older your prompts appear and your skills simply do not — no error, no empty state, nothing. If a colleague can see a skill and you cannot, compare versions before looking at anything else.

When it shows nothing

Work down this list; it is roughly the order of likelihood.

  1. Are you signed in, and into the right workspace? The extension follows one workspace at a time.

  2. Is the playbook published? This is the most common answer by a wide margin.

  3. Do you have access to it? A restricted or “Only me” playbook is invisible to everyone else, admins included.

  4. Is your extension version recent enough for what you are looking for?

  5. If syncing fails outright, sign out in the extension and sign in again — that re-establishes the connection to your workspace.

Nothing here is permanent. Without the extension your playbooks still work in sqemes Chat and in your MCP tools, and you can install or remove it at any time.
